Ron Head – Sculpture

Ron’s passion for art and his talent have been evident throughout his educational and career path.

In high school, he was awarded two scholarships to the Interlochen Arts Academy in Interlochen, Michigan. It was there that he ignited the spark of creativity and gained the confidence to pursue Fine Arts as a career. He studied at the University of Michigan for two years and then transferred to the University of California, Santa Barbara where he received his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree.

While raising a family, he concentrated on commercial art. He studied at the Center for Creative Studies in Detroit, Michigan and worked as a graphic designer for an advertising agency. From there he began his own advertising agency, work in television production and print design.

It was in 1998 that he re-discovered 3-dimensional art and began sculpting. He found his medium, after attending a class at Scottsdale Artist’s School. Sculpting in ceramic clay, bronze, and found objects, Ron put painting and advertising aside and immersed himself in the tactile passion of sculpture. Ron has spent his lifetime developing the experience and skills that give his work the dynamic representation of the spirit of man.
